Dear users!

 

As some of you have probably heard by now, we are now in the final testing stage for our next product release: DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight. Although we've been a little buried in a development rush, we are very excited to be able to share more about the product with you.

 

First things first – eye candy! Screenshots and videos are now starting to go public, so you should be seeing more of our Mi-8 over the next few days. Without further ado, here’s a sampling of some of the systems modeling, visuals, and audio you can expect from this wonderful model:

 

To give you a little more info about the product: as with the Huey, DCS: Mi-8MTV2 will feature “full real†flight and systems modeling as you’ve come to expect from DCS-level simulations. I think it’s safe to say that our Mi-8 will be as good as a virtual Mi-8 can possibly be and certainly will stand proud with the other great DCS helicopter modules, while perhaps raising the bar even a little higher in some areas (like cockpit sounds). The product will feature a 20 mission campaign by the creators of the Huey "UN Pilot" campaign, which was very well recieved by the community, and the normal set of features that will include training missions, single combat missions, and extensive documentation.

 

We need to be clear about the current completion state of the product as it goes into final testing prior to being made available for download as part of the pre-purchase open beta access. The Mi-8MTV2 module is currently at a somewhat earlier development stage than was the Huey at release. As I write this, we are still working on an English draft of the flight manual and translation of the campaign missions. What is already included is the Quickstart manual and some basic training lessons that will cover the start-up procedure, weapons fire, and a takeoff demo track. The flight model is essentially complete and passes muster with our very own senior Mi-8 pilot managing the project - PilotMi8. The damage model is still in progress. Weapons currently fully modeled include unguided rockets and three varieties of external gun pods. While I have no doubt our progress on completing these features will be very quick, we obivously understand some of you may wish to wait a until they are "in" before making your purchase.

 

We've also seen some concerns raised about our releasing of a second module before the first, the Huey, is final. There are internal reasons why this works best for us, like personnel workflow and finances, but there is also the simple fact that these two module share a lot of common ground and will share even more common features as they are developed, such as infantry and sling loads.

 

We look forward to your exploration of another great PC flight sim and are happy to be a part of the process! As always, thank you for your time and support!

Nunca he entendido la politica de ED con los releases. No pone nada en la página web, aparecen unas fotos y una lista de items en los foros rusos pero no en los ingleses. En los ingleses ponen un par de comentarios en medio de un thread que dificilmente se entienden.

 

No lo entiendo.

 

Y no es la primera vez que pasa.

Pequeño update de EvilBivol-1 sobre el UH-1H y Mi-8 para el Update 1 de la 1.2.6

Honestly I don't have that much to say at the moment. The next patch scheduled for release is the update to 1.2.6 already announced here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114584. Being that it is primarily designed to fix stability issues, it has little to do with the Huey and Hip specifically and will include only the minimum new changes needed to address those problems so as to minimize the chances of fouling something else up at the same time. If all goes well, we will then move on to the next big update, which may or may not be 1.2.7 and will likely feature more updates dedicated to the Huey and Hip.

 

In terms of what we've been working on internally, it's mostly been the external cargo model for the Huey, numerous cockpit updates and fixes for the Hip, and some command updates and fixes. Sorry, but no dramatic new features yet.

Alright, the manual working doc is on its way for review and formatting. There are still some bits of translation left, but no more than a day's worth. It does however still need a thorough editing pass at the moment not only for general language, but consistency in terminology and naming conventions. Shouldn't be more than a few days.

Fine tuning of the autopilot in game had to be done by means of teams or by means of a computer mouse manually, and also method of shutdown and the subsequent inclusion of the autopilot that distracted the user from flight process as the piloting user in game one for all. Now in game an additional option - the autopilot's auto-adjust. SARPP-12 system (System of Automatic Registration of Flight Data) now has animated panel. (System itself is NOT modeled)

Designation.
System of Automatic Registration of Flight Data SARPP-12 enables registration and storage of flight data in normal and emergency flight conditions.
SARPP-12 is turned on by putting switch to "РУЧÐ" position. Alternatively with switch being in "ÐВТ" position SARPP-12 turns on only having pressure in main or auxiliary hydraulic systems, or upon activation of one of ajar switches located on shock struts of main gear after helicopter gets in the air.
The function of magnetic tape transport mechanism can be checked by presence of blinking green annunciator "СÐРПП РÐБОТÐЕТ" which together with "СÐРПП-12" switch is located on a left side panel in cockpit.
System to be powered on manually before engines start and powered off also manually after complete engines stop.
In simulator (game) only animation of SARPP-12 is implemented. No data registration or recording is present. :)

KO-50 kerosene powered defroster is installed on a right hand side outside cargo compartment to the fore of fuel tank and is covered by special nacelle.

It’s recommended to turn on the KO-50 in “heating mode†having OAT/FAT below +10ºC while engines running on the ground or using ground electric power, in flight at any time for except autorotation mode. 
 
There are no limitations running KO-50 in “ventilation†mode.
 
1. Start up and usage of defroster in automatic temperature adjustment mode.
To start defroster in mentioned mode it is needed to:
1. Turn on DC power.
2. Turn on "KO-50" switch.
3. Set temperature selector to +30ºÐ¡.
4. Set mode selector switch to "автомат"(auto) position.
5. Press and hold for 2–3 seconds the "запуÑк"(start) button.
 
Fuel preheater starts to function, a yellow annunciator panel “ПОДОГРЕВ ТОПЛИВÐâ€(fuel preheating) lights up. When fuel temperature reaches 70 ±50ºÐ¡ (preheating time 35 ±15 seconds) fuel preheater turns off automatically, yellow annunciator panel “ПОДОГРЕВ ТОПЛИВІgoes dark. Simultaneously with fuel preheater shut down heater ignition and electric fan systems gets turned on. To annunciator panels lights up: yellow – “ЗÐЖИГÐÐИЕâ€(ignition), green – “ОБОГРЕВÐТЕЛЬ РÐБОТÐЕТ ÐОРМÐЛЬÐОâ€(defroster functions normally). The annunciator panel “ЗÐЖИГÐÐИЕâ€(ignition) should go dark not later than after 2 minutes counting from "запуÑк"(start) button gets pressed. Defrosted is to be considered functioning when yellow annunciator panel “ЗÐЖИГÐÐИЕâ€(ignition) goes dark and green annunciator panel “ОБОГРЕВÐТЕЛЬ РÐБОТÐЕТ ÐОРМÐЛЬÐОâ€(defroster functions normally) stays lit. After defroster start required temperature for helicopter compartments to be set using temperature selector switch. 
 
2. Start up and usage of defroster in manual temperature adjustment mode.
Set “ЗÐЛИВКР–ПОЛÐЫЙ РЕЖИМ –СРЕДÐИЙ РЕЖИМâ€(priming – maximum mode – half mode) mode selector switch to “ПОЛÐЫЙ РЕЖИМâ€(maximum mode) position (having OAT/FAT lower than -13ºÐ¡) or “СРЕДÐИЙ РЕЖИМâ€(half mode) (-13ºÐ¡ to +15ºÐ¡).
 
To start defroster in mentioned mode it is needed to:
1. Turn on DC power.
2. Turn on "KO-50" switch.
3. Set temperature selector to any position.
4. Select “ПОЛÐЫЙ РЕЖИМ –СРЕДÐИЙ РЕЖИМâ€(maximum mode - half mode)  mode using switch located on a right dash board.  
5. Set mode selector switch to "ручной"(manual) position.
6. Press and hold for 2–3 seconds the "запуÑк"(start) button.
 
Further equipment functioning it similar to start up in automatic mode. 
Defroster function in ventilation mode.
When using defroster for cabin ventilation in summer time turn on KO-50 switch and “ВЕÐТИЛ.â€(fan) switch to on position. 
 
Turning off KO-50 defroster.
To turn off defroster set mode selector switch to neutral position. Green annunciator panel “ОБОГРЕВÐТЕЛЬ РÐБОТÐЕТ ÐОРМÐЛЬÐОâ€(defroster functions normally) goes dark. But fan still stays on. Air supplied by fan eliminates fuel from combustion chamber, cools down calorifier. Fan gets turned off by automatic temperature sensor when temperature of air coming from defroster drops below +50ºC.
