Today an auto update will be available for 1.2.2:

Su-25T client brake chute cover will now close after rearming at an airbase when in MP.

Added corrections to the A-10C campaign.

FC3: Removed the possibility for black clouds when in the F-15C.

FC3: Converted FC2 MiG-29S campaign for FC3.

FC3: Converted FC2 Su-25 campaign for FC3.

FC3: Converted FC2 A-10A campaign for FC3.

Improved AI aircraft evasive maneuvers.

Autoupdater: Fixed the behaviour that after failed or cancelled update, the next one will automatically run only on the next day.

Fixed crash in MP when an A-10C client lowers the boarding ladder.

Scratches have to be added into the physical model now, they aren't a separate glass layer like the old FC1/2 days, so they would have to be added back in by ED. That aside, what is also now possible would be to have no scratches at the start of the mission, and over the duration of the flight build up a couple here and there. Some neat tricks available in EDM with some simple coding.

DCS Combined Arms Released

 

The final version of DCS: Combined Arms is now out of beta and available for sale from our website at:

DCS: Combined Arms gives you control of ground forces during the battle. Use the Command Map to move ground forces, set artillery fire missions, and control the ground battle. Assume the role of a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) in multiplayer and designate targets for player-controlled close air support aircraft, or directly control armor vehicles or air defense weapons and engage the enemy.

Play DCS: Combined Arms as a real time strategy game, a first person armor warfare game, or direct the ground battle from the cockpit of a DCS aircraft like the A-10C Warthog, Ka-50 Black Shark, or P-51D Mustang.

DCS: Combined Arms supports both single player and multiplayer game play. When in multiplayer, different players can take on different roles such as artillery commanders, tank commanders, pilots, JTACS, etc. DCS: Combined Arms allows you full control of the battle. All roles can be changed dynamically during the battle.

Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 (FC3) Update

 

Per the list above of FC3 changes, work on this module continues. However, the module will likely be in a protracted beta development stage as we create new content for it that our customers have been asking for.

The most noteworthy being a new 6 DOF cockpit for the Su-27 Flanker. We also plan to release a new radar mode for the MiG-29S that allows dual tracking and engagements of targets with the R-77 air-to-air missile.

The pre-purchase price will stay at $39.99 as an early buyer discount; however, the final release will be at $49.99 given the number of new features and extended development time.

Sorry for the confusion of the News Letter going out prior to 1.2.3 being released. There was a bit of a communications break down between eastern and western offices.

 

Although we can now talk about the new Su-27 cockpit and new MiG-29S radar mode, there are some other "big" items coming for FC3 too, but they are still in early stages and a bit early to announce them yet. All in all, we are striving to put a lot of new content into FC3.

Regarding a dedicated server. Work on this has been underway but had to be placed on hold given the current instability in network play. Once we get network play stable again, work on the dedicated server will resume.

El MIG21 es desarrollado por una Third Party con el soporte de ED.....el nivel de simulación será total.

Los mas importantes para nosotros el F-15C / F-18C/SU27 todo da a entender que será ED quien los desarrollará ya que no hay ningún Third Party trabajando en estos módulos. Es mas que obvio que estas tres hermosuras se las reserve ED para desarrollo propio. A tu pregunta Serpi....la respuesta es : "Si...mas que probable". Por ejemplo...el F-15 del FC3 lo mejoraron sustancialmente, tanto el modelo externo como su espectacular cabina 3D....no es casualidad que la cabina tiene todas las animaciones habilitadas para ser clickleable...evidentemente esto lo quieren hacer servir en algún momento.Con el resto de módulos la verdad aún no sabemos el nivel de simulación que manejan las Third Partys....lo que está claro es que ellos saben perfectamente que para que sus productos tengan éxito en la comunidad deben tenér un alto grado de simulación.

Saludos y si esto se confirma será un sueño hecho realidad.

1.2.3 Update

 

Over the weekend the test team did a lot of network testing, using many changes/improvements to the network code for 1.2.3. The results showed good stability and we plan to create an internal test version installer mid-week. If these tests go well, we hope to release 1.2.3 to the public soon afterwards.

 

Network stability is of high importance to us. In fact, 1.2.3 would have been released prior to the holiday if it was not.

 

We are also using this time to fix the reported FFB issue.
